Today we made the decision to go to the Hospice House tomorrow at 11 a.m. We talked with the doctor and with the hospice nurse who did an assessment. Ultimately we talked to my Dad about his wishes. He took it all in and said, "Well we gotta do what we gotta do." He's never been one to step back from a challenge and when this one came he met it head-on.

We've had some great talks about life and death this week. We feel privileged to have had this time. I am more convinced than ever about the grace of God that can save you and the grace of God that can keep you. The peace we've felt during these days where we have had to make gut wrenching decisions is palpable. I can truly feel the prayers.

We will leave the hospital at 11 a.m. or so and move to The Hospice House off of Wornall just across from Avila College (somewhere around 124th). We asked my dad if he wanted privacy or people around. He said he wanted so see people. He has always been a people person. He is going to squeeze in every visit he can.

He's ready to go but he wants to stay. I told Him that the Bible says God has numbered our days and he is going to live every one of them. He is not going to go one day early.
